Chain of custody

Requested by letter in February 2026 and sent in nine days at no charge. The office could find no record of anyone having asked for it before. It is a map of some trees and it is the most useful document in the story.

Editor's note

The felled ride runs at 104°. The lighthouse is at 106°. That is the single strongest piece of evidence for the ordinary explanation of this case and it came from a forestry office for the price of a stamp.
