Chain of custody
Our own dive. The plan was published before we sailed, including the question we were going down to answer and the answer two historians had already told us to expect. No part of the wreck was touched: no brushing, no jetting, no contact of any kind, on the archaeologist's instruction. The footage is published entire — not the good frames, the footage.
Held by: They Buried; published in full and reusable by anyone

Editor's note
Cost £214,000 of subscription money. Our standards editor thinks that was arguably vanity and her objection is printed in the story rather than kept internal.
