Court Orders Eleven Of The Seventeen Withheld Pages Released
WASHINGTON — This newspaper is the plaintiff in the case below.
A federal court on Friday ordered the release of eleven of the seventeen pages withheld from the Sector 41 anomaly log, PX-1330. It found the agency's exemption claim insufficiently specific as to those eleven. Six pages stay withheld and the court upheld the exemption on those.
The agency has thirty days to comply or appeal. We do not know what is on the eleven pages. We will publish them in full when we have them, including if they are dull.
Cordelia Strand, the retired disclosure officer who told this newspaper to request the withheld pages as a separately indexed series, died on 21 July. The strategy the court has now vindicated was hers.
